Assassin’s Creed Revelation leads to a great end to the Ezia and Altaïr cycles

Assassin’s Creed Revelation, the latest version of the famous Assassin’s Creed franchise, is all set to be released in November, 2011. The three protagonists of the original game continue to be featured in this version too namely Altaïr, Ezio and Desmond. This version is said to be the last of the series to feature a Renaissance Era setting. The game comes back with a multiplayer setting like in Brotherhood but with an expansion on the basic modes of the previous version. New characters and locations are also added. The multiplayer modes also include a “story oriented quests” mode.

The storyline in this version has the master assassin Ezio walking in the footsteps of Altaïr that leads to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where an army of Templars threaten to destabilize the region. The battle between the assassins and the Templars continue as the aim to take possession of ancient artifacts stands strong. The modern day Templars and assassins can also use the device called Animus to travel back to the memories of their forefathers.

The beta version of the game gave a good look at the graphics and the game interface and showed that there are three maps available- the stone buildings of Knight’s hospital, the market town of Antioch and the coastal region of Constantinople. The beta version offered four modes, two of them being new ones. Apart from Wanted and Manhunt modes, there is the Deathmatch mode wherein the compasses and the chases have been removed and the Artifact mode which has the two teams after each other’s artifact. The players are also allowed to customize their characters’appearances and weapons. Assassin’s Creed Revelation also has currency system letting you purchase abilities and collect items.

The Ezia and the Altaïr cycles are both set to end with Assassin’s Creed Revelation and then the next cycle will be about Desmond which is reportedly the final one.
