Battlefield 3is set for release on 25th October 2011 worldwide, and is set to take the gaming world by storm with its new features, plot and concept. Battlefield 3 is not just a plain rehash of the earlier versions; a lot of work has been put into integration new technology and advanced functions.
The lighting sounds have been improved, the levels have been made neater and more believable, and the sound effects will be very realistic. Though it is a direct sequel to the earlier version, Battlefield 2 which was released in the year 2005, the predecessor BF3 is the result of a lot of hard work from the team and unit in terms of integration of better technology. The animated characters do not look gross and far from reality anymore – work has been done on bringing up the animation realism quotient up. The customization quotient has been taken onto a whole new level, wherein characters can be customised to achieve a whole new look, both in AI mode and multiplayer modes.
A co-op mode has been inserted and a kill-cam has been added, which can be turned off as per one’s preference. There is a possibility of inclusion of the theatre mode as well, but the reports have not been confirmed or denied yet.
The gaming mode has also been altered. The first person player mode has been altered for bringing in a balanced mix of highs and lows. The player’s team for Battlefield 3 would be twice as large as the team in Battlefield 2, and the additional help will bring a fresh infusion of action and adventure in the game. There also would be more number of unlocks than in Battlefield 2.
The storyline has been diverted from that of Bad Company, and a fresh outline of plot and scenario will be seen. The technological advances have been done via Frostbite 2.0, which takes some time getting used to and is quite complex to understand, but once it is understood, there is no looking back for the players. The single player mode takes one to different places like Sarajevo, the exquisite Paris, Tehran etc and Sulaymaniyah has been included in a combat videogame for the first time. There are different gaming modes – Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Conquest, Rush etc. in order to keep the players glued to the gaming console for an eternity.
